Greetings,

The entire GCDA board would like to extend a big THANK YOU to all of our members and community partners for making 2015-2016 a very successful year. Whether you participated in professional development events, joined us for a networking breakfast, volunteered in the community or just read the newsletter, we are happy to have you along with us and hope you will join us for more events in the upcoming year!

In this issue we'll discuss April's Mini Conference, board nominations, and a meetup for folks attending the National Career Development Association conference from June 30 - July 2 in Chicago.

It has been a great year for the Georgia Career Development Association, and we are excited to lean in to another year of great networking events, useful professional development opportunities, and lots more!

Thanks to all who were able to attend our first ever GCDA Spring Mini Conference on Friday April 22 at Mercer University in Atlanta. We received great feedback which included the following:

Would you or someone you know like to serve on the Georgia Career Development Association Board for the upcoming 2016-2017 year? We are now accepting nominations for the following positions:

Nominations are due June 1. Ballots will be sent on June 3 and elections will run from June 3-15 with the naming of the board to be released immediately following.

The National Career Development Association Conference is coming up at the end of June! GCDA is organizing a meetup for our Georgia career development professionals. Our meetup will be on the evening of Thursday, June 30 at 7 p.m. just after the main NCDA welcome reception. The meetup will be in the conference hotel (Hyatt Regency). We will announce a specific place to meet closer to the event day. 

This will be a great opportunity to meet up for dinner, discuss sessions you plan on attending, and enjoy the great city of Chicago together.
