6 Resilience Challenges of Career Development

This session will explore the nature of challenges—opportunities, and problems—arising in the workplace and beyond. We will review evidence for resilience as an active process and explore a framework of tools and capabilities (“resilience muscles”) that support challenge-readiness. Applying the model first to ourselves and then to the people we serve, we will discuss strategies for increasing effectiveness and well-being in the context of core career challenges. We will leave with practical action steps.

Objectives

  • Explore an evidence-based framework for understanding resilience as an active process
  • Build self-awareness of resilience tools and building blocks and set personal development intentions
  • Apply the resilience framework to six common career development challenges
